Real Madrid now sit on 101 goals

For only the second time in club history, Real Madrid eclipsed the century mark for goals scored in league play in a season. The Whites have scored 101 goals with one match remaining; six shy of the 107 scored in 1989/90. Although the whole team can be credited with such a feat, Cristiano Ronaldo and Higuain are the main men responsible having combined for 53 of the 101 goals.

It is worth noting that Cristiano Ronaldo has also tallied 101 strikes throughout the last 3 seasons (75 in league competitions, 19 in the Champions League, 6 in Cup titles and 1 in the World Club Championship). He scores 33 goals on average per campaign, the same he has netted for the Whites this year.

His numbers could have been even greater if not for the four months he spent injured in the last two seasons. Following recovery from this year's injury, the Portuguese star has scored 17 strikes in 16 games.
